WHO Collaborating Centre
The Institute began its activities as a WHO collaborating centre in nutrition research and training (WHOCCNRT) in 1992 following activities related to IDD and re-designated from 1996 to 2013.
The Institute also cooperates with other UN agencies, especially UNICEF and FAO in different areas of food and nutrition.
The director of the NNFTRI is the chairman of the council. The members are included ten experts in food, nutrition, and related fields. They are appointed by the High Council. The Research Council is responsible for research planning and approval of proposed research projects.
The deputy director for research is the chairman of the Council. The members are selected from research departments as well as educational departments of the affiliated Faculty. The Council is responsible for reviewing and approval of all Institutes' publications.
The members of this Committee make decisions about job upgrading of faculty members and researchers.
