Introduction

It is a branch of nutrition science that covers a wide range of food and nutrition issues related to individuals, families and special needs of groups living in certain geographical areas. In this field, people are more interested in the form of groups, society and population. Community nutrition is also defined as “translation and transformation of nutrition science in the design and effective management of programs tailored to the community and improvement of nutrition in order to provide food and nutrition in the perspective of development and human rights”. Community nutrition emphasizes achieving food security for the general population, while nutrition responsibility in public health focuses on the provision of nutrition services.

Creating a community-oriented educational environment, based on national culture and consistent with the sustainable development attitude, which is able to realize nutrition science (from cells to society) and while promoting and expanding the service and executive skills of graduates in this field, the trans-sectoral approach in nutrition with To promote the goal of sustainable development through high-level programs and documents compiled at macro and micro levels.

Prophecy

Providing suitable platforms in the field of education and research, in line with the movement to achieve food security and nutrition (food security) with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life of the Iranian society.

Targets

Training community nutritionists with an interdisciplinary approach who are able to implement the following:
A) Designing and managing programs related to food and nutrition and providing services in an effective, efficient, coordinated and balanced manner
b) Training and applying the bottom-up decision-making method in the management of the food and nutrition program in the country.
c) Establishing and implementing an inter-departmental integrated approach in food and nutrition education, research and internship
t) Education and training of resourceful and efficient forces (leaders) in the application of nutrition science and related fields in order to achieve food and nutrition security in the society.
C) justifying and gaining the support of decision-makers and macro-level planners to provide proper nutrition in the society.
d) Coordinating educational and research activities and compiling and adjusting educational programs for teaching courses and topics in the field of community nutrition in the field of nutrition and related fields through:
1) Supervising the presentation of lessons and reviewing and commenting on the textbooks and content of the community nutrition group
2) Reviewing and designing research projects and proposing them to the educational-research council of the faculty
3) Annual evaluation of the group’s work for planning in educational and research councils
4) Examining and commenting on the headings and revising the title of the lessons and determining the content of the lessons according to the latest achievements and scientific developments.
5) Training skilled and capable experts and specialists in the field of nutrition sciences at different levels of study
