Food Consumption Survey (FCS) and data management system workshop

Considering the fact that the National Food Inspection Plans are being implemented this year, the Food Safety Study and Data Management workshop was held on September 6th-8th, 2012 in the presence of the World Health Organization’s adviser, Dr. Maria Gilbetic at the NNFTRI. The general topics outlined in the workshop included: a brief description of the experiences of other countries on food research, methods for conducting consumer, family and national consumption surveys, benefits and challenges experienced, data entry methods, Interpreting and reporting, methods for assuring the quality of data collected and the use of new technologies in food consumer research studies. It is worth noting that the NNFTRI has been actively involved in the region since 1992 as a partner of the World Health Organization (WHO), and the workshop was also sponsored by the World Health Organization and attended by representatives of the various centers of the network. National Health Nutrition and Nutritionists working at the Nutrition and Food Research Institute of Iran and Nutrition Faculty, Nutrition Improvement Office, Iran University of Medical Sciences, were established to expand national and international activities and promote collaboration.
